Recipe - Woof Treats

1.5 cups Self-rising white corn meal mix (or rice flour)
1.5 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
3/4 cup and 2 tbsp. evaporated skim milk
2 egg whites, beaten
2 tbsp. canola oil

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl combine corn meal mix, all-purpose flour, garlic powder and parmesan cheese. Add evaporated milk, egg whites and oil. Combine ingredients with your hands.
Divide the dough into three equal parts. Set two parts aside, covering each with a damp paper towel. Split the remaining part into 4 pieces and roll into 16 to 18 inch long rope. Cover each rope with a damp paper towel and set aside. Repeat with each part. Take three ropes and braid together, once braided cut into 2 or 3 inch pieces.
Optional, either use food color to color each 'part' 1 red, 1 blue or use beet juice to color one part and blue berry juice to color the other part before braiding.
Personally I don't use food coloring since it is not longer a 'natural' product but man made with chemicals - so if you do want to make a multi colored braid use vegetable/fruit to do that with.
Bake for 20 minutes, turn off the oven and let treats cool off in the oven for several hours. Refrigerated in an airtight container for up to three weeks.
NOTE:
If the dough becomes dry or crumbles when you are rolling it into ropes add a teaspoon at a time of evaporated milk to the dough.
